Roy Frick, EA, LPA-(DE), ABA, ATA, ARA/ECS

Founded our organizations in 1982 after a 15 year career in banking and corporate management.

Associates Degree in Accounting from Baltimore Institute in 1967 which is now part of the University of Baltimore

During his professional career he has served the accounting profession on both the state and national level. A Past President of the Maryland Society of Accountants and past District Governor of the National Society of Accountants Roy has always striven to make sure that all practicing accountants are constantly working to improve themselves through continuing professional education. He continues to serve the profession today as President of the Maryland Society of Accountants Scholarship Foundation. This was a pet project during his presidency and continues to be so today.

In 2015 completed a two year term as President of the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation and currently serves on the Board as Past President. In addition to this he serves the National Society of Accountants as an advisor to the Education Committee

In the community you will find him active in his church. . Over the years he has served on the various Boards and as President of the Epilepsy Association of the Eastern Shore, the Board of The American Cancer Society and Diakonia the local homeless shelter.

Roy has lectured for the Maryland Society of Accountants and over the years has been a nationally recognized speaker on tax and accounting issues.

Laurie Frick

Laurie was a co founder of our organizations and continues to work heading the payroll section and the daily operations of paying the bills for the various condominium associations we represent.

Laurie has over 45 years experience in payroll and administrative management. She has also served on committees over the years various non profit organizations.

One of her hobbies is baking and she is known as the "Official Church Baker" where she prepares baked goods for our various church dinners and functions.

Corey Rimel, EA, LPA-(DE), ABA, ATP

Corey has been a member of our organization since 1998.

He holds an Accounting Degree from Wilmington University manages the various client accounting functions on a daily basis

A Certified QuickBooks Professional Advisor he is always available to assist clients with their QuickBooks problems and also train clients on the proper use of the software.

Corey is very active in his church where along with his wife and son the are a member of the Free Spirit Contemporary singing group

What do they mean?

 

EA - Enrolled Agent to obtain this designation you must pass a comprehensive 4 part examination on all phases of taxation administered by the United States Treasury - upon successful completion and passsing a background check you are issued a Treasury Card which allows you to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service with the same rights and privileges as CPA's and Attorneys.

LPA-(DE) - Licensed Public Accountant in the state of Delaware having passed the exam administered by the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation and the Ethics exam administered by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants you may apply for licensing in Delaware and are permitted to do everything a CPA can do with the exception of auditing for profit companies.

ABA - Accredited Business Accountant - to obtain this designation you must pass a national exam in all phases of small business accounting administered by the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation.

ATA & ATP - Accredited Tax Advisor and Accredited Tax Preparer - both of these exams are administered by the Accreditation Council for Accountany and Taxation. The Advisor exam encompasses all areas of tax preparation while the Preparer exam is more limited to individual tax issues.

ARA/ECS - Accredited Retirement Advisor - Elder Care Specialist - this designation is awarded after completing course work in four different areas relating to elder care and the tax issues of dealing with the elderly and passing the examination given by the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation. It demonstrates your knowledge of dealing in this complex area and your commitment to assisting our aging population.

CPE - Continuing Professional Education - to keep all of the above credential active you must complete course and attend seminars on a continual basis. The minimum requirement is 24 hours per year to a maximum of 40 hours per year. All of our credential holders obtain a minimum of 48 hours every year in continuing education to always stay up to date on the ever changing tax codes and compliance issues.
